Invest in Your Child Begins

It is time to kick off our annual INVEST In Your Child campaign, one of the most important ways we, as a PTO, support Eakin is through our annual INVEST campaign and our goal for INVEST is $40,000 this year, to cover part of our $92,000 PTO budget. So, what exactly is INVEST? Eakin is a well-funded school, but what do we spend on our children's school to make it excellent? Here's our estimate for this school year: Classroom Support (materials, tech, equipment, software, security needs) $35,000 Curriculum / IB Support, Training and Development $14,000 Teacher / Staff Appreciation events, lunches, snacks, shirts $12,000 Community Building Events and Projects $7,000 PTO Administration, Website, and Sales Tax $7,000 Family Support (holiday food boxes, clothing, needs) $6,000 Facility Support (landscaping, repairs, furniture, signage, custodial extras) $3,000 Yearbooks (costs above wholesale purchases) $4,000 Fun Run / Field Trip shirts for every student $4,000 TOTAL $92,000   The Eakin PTO Invest funds primarily go to supporting your children’s classrooms: Curriculum materials like beads or books, quality software, faculty training and professional development, extra security measures (like a quality two-way radio in every classroom), playground and other equipment needs. We ensure our Eakin classrooms, and the entire school have what they need to ensure the faculty is prepared for each day. Many of these investments are “must haves” for our teachers to provide the excellence in education we have come to expect as Eakin families. We want to continue providing our amazing faculty with what they need to give our children a top-notch education.
