Clubs Are Here! Hello, Families! We’re excited to offer new and returning clubs this semester.

There will be 9 sessions from September 14–November 19, meeting Monday–Thursday from 3:25–4:25 p.m. Most clubs are open to all grades, while some are grade-specific, so please read each club description before registering.

Please understand that some clubs will run for 8 weeks or host a makeup day for when students are not present at school. There will be no clubs during the week of Fall Break.

Happy hunting for your next afterschool adventure! Registration for clubs will close on Saturday, September 12 at midnight and will be final.

Monday Clubs

Eakin Debate Club

Grades 3–5

🗣️ Find Your Voice in Debate Club!
Does your child love sharing ideas and asking big questions? Debate Club helps students build confidence, strengthen public speaking skills, and learn how to engage respectfully with different viewpoints.

Students will research and prepare arguments, practice public speaking and presentation skills, learn respectful rebuttal and constructive dialogue, work with Vanderbilt student mentors and judges, and participate in local competitions with other Nashville students.

S.T.E.A.M. Club

🔬✨ Calling all curious thinkers, creative problem-solvers, builders, inventors, and future innovators! S.T.E.A.M. Club is a hands-on adventure where students explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through fun, creative, and sometimes wonderfully messy challenges. Students will design, build, experiment, create, test ideas, solve problems, and discover that there is more than one way to make something amazing.

Collector’s Club

Collectors Club is a fun, social space for students who enjoy collecting trading cards and other collectibles. Students will share their collections, learn about card sets and rarity, organize cards, participate in collector-themed activities, and practice responsible trading and respectful discussion. High-value, rare, or sentimental collectibles should remain at home.

The Creative Kids Club

The Creative Kids Club combines literacy, painting, color theory, and hands-on crafts. Through books and educational videos, students will explore famous artists, creative techniques, and inspiring themes that guide their art projects. Students will learn about the color wheel, mixing colors, painting, crafting, creative exploration, fine motor skills, self-expression, and problem-solving.

Math Masters

Grades 4–5

In Math Masters, students will take their math skills to the next level through fun, hands-on projects that connect math to real-world situations. Students will engage in extension activities that challenge their problem-solving and creativity while working together, thinking critically, and having fun.

The Very Crafty Caterpillar

Grades K–2

Come explore the colorful world of Eric Carle! In this fun, hands-on club, students will read Eric Carle’s beloved books and create crafts inspired by his bright colors, collage artwork, and memorable characters. No artistic experience is needed—just a love of stories and creativity.

Karaoke & Just Dance Club

Do you love music, movement, and having fun with friends? Students will sing favorite songs and learn fun dance routines in a positive and encouraging environment. No singing or dancing experience is needed. This club is about building confidence, expressing creativity, staying active, and having fun.

Yoga Club K-2

Grades K–2

Yoga Club is a fun, relaxing way for students to move, stretch, and practice mindfulness. Students will enjoy Cosmic Kids Yoga videos, movement, imaginative stories, breathing exercises, and simple relaxation techniques.

Scrapbooking Club

Do you love taking pictures and capturing precious moments? Students will create a keepsake scrapbook with beautiful pages to display and keep their photos. Students bring printed photos, and all other supplies are provided.

Tuesday Clubs

Chess Club

Grades 3–5

Students are invited to join Chess Club. Students will learn the basics of chess, develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, and enjoy friendly games with classmates. Beginners and experienced players are welcome.

Mahjong Club

Grades 1–5

Welcome to Mahjong 101! Any and all players, with or without experience, are welcome. This is an introduction class to the game of mahjong. Students will learn about the tiles, rules, game play, and more. By the end of the club, your child should be playing games independently with some occasional support. A spring Mahjong 2.0 will be offered for students who already know how to play and want to continue learning.

Authors & Illustrators Club

📚✨ Calling all storytellers, dreamers, doodlers, and future bestselling authors! Students will become authors, illustrators, and creative directors as they write, illustrate, and design their own books. They will develop characters, create stories, experiment with illustrations and design, and bring their ideas to life.

Future Leaders of America

Available Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Future Leaders of America is a homework help club available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This club focuses on helping students with homework and playing educational games to make learning fun and keep students engaged. Please follow the registration form instructions for day selection and attendance details.

Taylor’s Tots

Calling all little Swifties! Taylor’s Tots celebrates all things Taylor Swift through music, friendship, creativity, bracelets, songs, poems, stories, laughter, and maybe even a few sing-alongs.

Intermediate ASL

Prior ASL experience

This club is for students who have already taken an ASL Club at Eakin. Students will expand their knowledge of ASL, learn more about its history, play games, learn ASL culture jokes, and learn how to sign a song in American Sign Language.

Dojo Island

Ages 5–12

Dojo Islands is a playful world built for kids where they can express themselves, build friendships, explore STEM, practice teamwork, and have fun in a safe, positive environment.

Step/Dance Club

Get ready to move, clap, stomp, and shine! Step & Dance Club gives students the opportunity to learn energetic step routines, creative dance moves, and performance techniques while making new friends. Students develop teamwork, discipline, confidence, and school spirit through music and movement.

Eakin Eagles Charm Club

Grades 1–5

Classroom Associate Pam Gray Turner has done it all and has the years behind her to prove it! Did you know that she was a model for Tennessee State Senator Marsha Blackburn when the senator was Fashion Editor of the Tennessean newspaper? Ms. Turner also had a children’s television show on Channel 5 called Fun City Five, which featured news about kids, written by kids from MNPS, private, and parochial schools throughout Davidson County. She later modeled for magazines and billboards all over the country, including Glamour, Teen, Essence, Jet, and Ebony magazine. After her husband finished Meharry Dental School in Nashville, they moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, where she taught at the University of South Carolina while her husband served as a Navy dentist stationed at Parris Island. Ms. Turner also went on to have a charm school, was a reporter for PBS, and had a weekly Talk of the Town television show in Beaufort. Now, it’s your student’s opportunity to polish and refine lifetime skills while enjoying each week’s featured topic, finishing the ninth week with a fashion show and later presentation to our school at a time determined in the future.

Wednesday Clubs

Elementary Science Olympiad Club

Grades 3–5

The Elementary Science Olympiad Club offers an engaging, hands-on STEM experience. Students will explore engineering design, force, energy, measurement, and scientific investigation while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students may also represent Eakin in the Spring 2027 Science Olympiad Competition.

Board Game Club

Students will play a variety of board games and card games, learn new games, practice teamwork and problem-solving skills, and enjoy friendly competition. Board game experts and new players are all welcome.

Beaded Animals Club

Do you love animals, keychains, and beads? Students will create a new keychain each club meeting to add to their backpack, including animals like lizards, ladybugs, otters, penguins, snakes, and other fun objects like smiley faces and flowers.

Eakin Sports Gaming League

The Eakin Sports Gaming League gives students the chance to compete in age-appropriate sports video games in a structured, team-oriented environment. Students will participate in league play, track standings, learn game strategy, and build sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition.

Sports Sampler Club

Grades 2–5

Students will try a variety of sports through skill-building activities, games, and friendly competition. Students will develop new skills while building teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. No previous experience required.

Future Leaders of America

Beginner ASL

Students will learn the basics of American Sign Language. This class is great for students who have little to no knowledge of sign language.

Thursday Clubs

Sketchbook Squad

Students will learn about famous artists, types of art, key elements of art, and create their own masterpieces through guided drawing activities with Ms. Markowitz. Sketchbooks and supplies will be provided.

The Kindness Crew

The Kindness Crew, led by Mrs. Hernandez, is a student-led club where kids build leadership skills while creating projects that spread joy, kindness, and positivity throughout the school. Students will work together to turn ideas into action and make Eakin an even happier place to be.

Dough Pros (K-2)

Grades K–2

8-week club

Dough Pros — get ready to squish, twist, fold, and mold! In this 8-week club, students will manipulate modeling dough to develop fine motor skills, practice hand-building techniques, and engage peers in imaginative sensory play. Dough Pros will meet with Mrs. B in the art studio on the following Thursdays: Sept. 17 & 24, Oct. 1, 22, & 29, and Nov. 5, 12, & 19. Each student will take home their own set of modeling dough at the end of the session.

Movie Magic

Movie Magic Club is a fun space where students can relax, watch age-appropriate films, enjoy popcorn with friends, and participate in guided discussions about characters, themes, favorite scenes, and lessons learned. This club encourages conversation, creativity, critical thinking, and social interaction.

UNOverse — The ULTIMATE Card Game Club

UNO! Skip it. Reverse it. Draw 4! Students will learn, play, and explore all things UNO, try different versions of the game, make new friends, and finish with an epic UNO Bracket Tournament for the title of UNO Champion.

Story Passport

Each week, young explorers travel to a new country through stories, snacks, and hands-on activities — no plane ticket required. Students learn about world cultures, listen to stories from around the globe, and collect stamps in their own Story Passport.

Advanced Maker’s Studio

Grades 4–5 only

A hands-on creative experience where students use imagination, design thinking, problem-solving, and artistic expression to transform ordinary materials into unique creations. In this club, students will explore a variety of materials and techniques while learning to plan, design, construct, revise, and reflect on their work. Each student will create a personal Creative Designer’s Journal to document their projects, ideas, and creative growth.
