Eagle Flyer no. 2

Week two is in the books. I hope all your children are doing well.

I'm still getting used to swimming PTO waters (one could say breathing PTO waters) and I'm not sure how long I'm allowed to make the newsletter. I won't push it.

Upcoming events (as you’ve probably already noted from the calendar at EakinPTO.org):

Popsicle Playdate at Dragon Park, K and 1

- Saturday, August 19, from 3-4:30 pm. For Kindergarteners and First Graders. A gathering of parents and children for mingling and madness, respectively. If you aren’t all that familiar with Dragon Park, it’s on the opposite corner of the block from Eakin. If you want, bring popsicles. I’ll bring some, but it’ll be hot.

Orientation Night for Grades 3, 4, and 5

- Monday, August 21, from 6-7:30 pm. Start in the auditorium for an information session then go meet your child’s teacher and see the classrooms. The Eakin PTO will be selling Eakin Wear by the auditorium.  CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, and cash will be accepted. Proceeds support your Eakin PTO.

Popsicle Playdate at Dragon Park, grades 2 and 3

-Saturday August 26, from 2-3:30 pm Community is essential, and I know I haven’t met every parent yet. If you can, bring some popsicles.

Popsicle Playdate at Dragon Park, grades 4 and 5

- Saturday August 26, from 3:30-5 pm.  Hang out with other parents while your kids go wild. Bring some popsicles if you want. I’ll have some, but I hope I run out.

Eakin PTO Meeting number 1

- Tuesday, August 29, from 6-7pm. We meet in the Eakin Library. Enter the building at the walkers entrance on Fairfax. Kids are welcome.

Do Two: At Eakin, each family volunteers just two hours a year to keep programs and events running smoothly. The Eakin PTO runs about 25 events and over 10 programs. (As the president, I’m afraid to look at the calendar too far ahead right now.) Everything your PTO does is run by volunteers. Go to EakinPTO.org and click that VOLUNTEER button and fill out the form.

PS If you don't have any association with Eakin anymore, just reply to this newsletter to get taken off the mailing list. I don't know if that unsubscribe button below even works. I don't trust it. It probably puts you on a NSA list of some sort. Whereas, I actually will take you off the mailing list if asked.
