About Eakin PTO

Eakin Elementary School is a K to 5th grade International Baccalaureate School located in the Hillsboro West End neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee. The Eakin Elementary Parent Teacher Organization represents a strong, diverse community of Parents, Teachers, and community members from across Nashville that are committed to ensuring every child that attends Eakin can be their best. Eakin is an educational center that draws more than five hundred students from across the City, speaking 22 languages including American Sign Language.

Above all else, the Eakin Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) exists to support our teachers and education administrators through a connected, inclusive, and supportive school environment. Our Parent Teacher Organization is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit that helps our school in a spectrum of ways. First, we help provide a forum for communication between parents, teachers, and the administration with our room parent program, educational town hall events, and monthly PTO meetings. Next, we help promote educational growth with financial, organizational, and volunteer contributions. Additionally, and perhaps the most fun, we celebrate our diversity and student success with a range of programs throughout the year that include an international potluck, school dance, and not to be missed school talent show. Finally, we help organize a range of after school activities from gardening to chess and sports programs including basketball, soccer, track, and tennis.

Eakin Elementary School is located in an historic 1928 building named in honor of the first woman to join the Nashville School Board. We are centrally in Nashville near Vanderbilt and Belmont and immediately adjacent to Fanny Mae Dees (Dragon) Park. In addition to the classroom pods, clustered by floor, our community is proud of the numerous facilities which support our students, including a light-filled library with floor to ceiling windows, gymnasium, and student auditorium. While we appreciate the physical aspects of our building, Eakin Elementary is a fantastic place because of the vibrant and welcoming community! Join us.
